Blue Spring swim season closes November 14, 2026
The 2026 swim season at Blue Spring State Park is scheduled to end on Saturday, November 14. After that date the spring run closes to all in-water activity, including swimming, snorkeling, tubing and diving, while the park becomes a winter refuge for West Indian manatees.
The date can move earlier
November 14 is the scheduled date, but the park closes the spring as soon as manatee numbers call for it. Last season the spring closed four days early. If a cold front pushes manatees in during early November, the final swim days can disappear quickly.
Last chance to get in the water
Our guided snorkel and scuba tours run right up to the closure, and every tour includes guaranteed park entry, even on busy fall weekends when the park fills up. Early-morning Try Scuba and Private Scuba tours are in the water by 7am, before the park opens.
What happens after the closure
From mid-November through March, Blue Spring is one of the best places in Florida to see manatees from the boardwalk. The spring is scheduled to reopen for swimming on April 1, 2027, and that date can also shift with manatee numbers.
